1:50 Longitudinal Section Printed floorplans and elevations were used to produce a scaled 1:50 hand drawing of a longitudinal section of the Eames House. 1:25 Horizontal Sectional Drawing A horizontal sectional drawing at 1:25 was found in a library book. The following scan of the horizontal section was located in the following book: J. Steele, Eames House: Architecture in Detail, Phaison Press, London (1994). In order to gain an idea as to the layout of our chosen property (Eames House) we accessed CAD drawings of floorplans and elevations. This enabled us to understand and conceptualise the space within its environment to be able to identify key areas in which we wanted to initially sketch. The scaled CAD drawings also gave us a sense of scale in which to work. We initially printed these CAD drawings out at a scale of 1:200 and then scaled up to 1:100 so that we could determine finer details more precisely.
